The Egremont Hotel is centrally placed for any West Country holiday.
THE EGREMONT HOTEL - a friendly family hotel with very comfortable accommodation. We have an excellent restaurant with a high quality menu and good wines. Out bars are well known for farmhouse ciders and real ales. The Egremont Hotel is centrally placed for any West Country holiday, with the beauty of Exmoor, the Quantock Hills and the Bristol Channel coast right on the doorstep. We provide an ideal base for exploring the South-West of England, for walking, rambling, golfing or just relaxing! We also run day or residential workshops in a range of decorative arts. The hotel was originally a Coaching Inn called 'The Blue Anchor' - probably a smuggling house - renamed in 1720 the Coach & Horses with stabling for 36 horses. In the early 19th century it was called the Wyndham Hotel and in 1843 it became The Egremont Hotel. The Egremont Hotel stands here still to provide shelter and hospitality for the traveller and for those who wish to stay awhile. From the cobbled courtyard to the Regency Ballroom the building is steeped in history and is, of course, reputed to have a ghost or two. The owners regret they have never experienced these phenomena!
