The Royal Hotel, an elegant Grade II listed building with its unique gold dome, is a place of welcome to travellers. Situated in the heart of the thriving town of Hexham, the hotel dominates the street of Priestpopple.
Built in 1820, the original coaching house was known as the 'New' or 'Low Grey Bull', eventually to become 'The Royal Hotel' in around 1870. Anthony and Jane Pelly took over in April 1998 with a vision to restore The Royal Hotel to its former glory. After extensive refurbishment and modernisation, The Royal Hotel is now fully prepared to welcome visitors from this new century. All the bedrooms are on the 3rd floor.
