It's imposing facade is a noted landmark in the quiet, lower part of Old Sherborne, five minutes leisurely walk from the Abbey and the town's main shopping parade. Typical of a gentleman's residence of that period, the house is spacious light and comfortable. Fresh flowers grace every room. Our seafood dishes are as equally highly regarded as our meat - which is somewhat exceptional in the restaurant world. The garden at the Eastbury is an absolute joy. Walled, south facing, an acre in extent with broad lawns and planted with shrubs, trees and hedges it is indeed a peaceful haven in a rushing world. The County of Dorset and Sherborne, its ancient capital, is rich in history, culture and interest - far too much to include in this brief introduction. Where could one start? Stonehenge? The New Forest? Our castles 'old' and the 'new'? built for Sir Walter Raleigh who found the 'old' (even though a gift from his grateful Queen) a bit on the uncomfortable side. Our park, laid down by Capability Brown, and one of the loveliest you could wish to see... and our Cathedral, now an Abbey from when Sherborne was a city.
