Family run 3 star award winning country house hotel noted for quality food plus peace and tranquillity. Overlooking the pretty village of Stoke Gabriel on the banks of the River Dart. It stands in a terraced Elizabethan garden, which, with its clipped yew arches, box hedges and magnolia trees, occupies nearly three acres within high surrounding walls. There is also an outdoor heated swimming pool and a lawn tennis court. In the winter, there is always a log fire in one of the lounges. Gabriel Court has always enjoyed a reputation for perfectly cooked English food. Fruit and vegetables in season are from the garden; salmon and sea trout from the Dart, with other fish landed at nearby Brixham; venison and game from Devon estates and poultry and eggs from neighbouring farms. The hotel has a bar with a conditional licence and has a well stocked cellar. Children are made welcome; cots, high chairs and high teas are available and baby listening is possible through the internal telephone system. All rooms are extremely comfortable, have colour television, radio and direct dial telephone, a beverage tray and hair dryer.
