Countryhouse hotel with award winning restaurant set in the heart of Wordsworths' Grasmere. Secluded gardens backing on to the river Rothey.
The Grasmere Hotel is a delightful small Victorian Country House Hotel and Restaurant set in the heart of the English Lake District and on the edge of Grasmere Village in an acre of informal gardens through which the River Rothay flows. The hotel retains the character of an English country house while providing modern standards of comfort and a warm friendly atmosphere that has encouraged many guests to return again and again. Each bedroom at the Grasmere is named after one of the many great writers and poets who have been inspired by the beauty and grandeur of the Lake District’s landscape. Just as each writer has his own particular style, so each room is individual in style, size, decor and furnishings. Some feature the unashamed luxury of a four poster bed, or pamper the guest with velvet coronets and drapes over the bed. All rooms are en suite private bathrooms, and all have central heating and direct dial telephone. Complimentary tea and coffee making facilities, toiletries and magazines are all provided as standard. Some bathrooms include a bath, separate shower and WC, others have a shower and WC only. Two of the bedrooms are situated on the ground floor, for the convenience of guests for whom stairs are a problem.
