Barrel Rock Hotel is set in a quiet residential area of Bude, yet within a few minutes walk of the historic canal, town shops, links golf course, three glorious surfing beaches, dramatic clifftops and a coastline of outstanding natural beauty. Bude, in the topmost corner of the county, is the first resort on the Atlantic coast of Cornwall, and is an excellent base from which to explore the beautiful Cornish and Devonshire coastline. Open all year, the Hotel is equally suited to both the business person and those taking a short break or longer holiday. It has an interesting history, having been built in the 1880's by Sir Thomas Ackland as a private residence and converted to a hotel in the 1920's. The current owners, The Goacher family have tastefully modernised the building, to ensure that all modern facilities are available, whilst retaining the historic character of the building. All 9 rooms are naturally en suite and include hairdryers, tea/coffee making facilities, colour television, and direct dial telephones.Five are superior rooms, far more spacious with bath and shower and extra facilities. The restaurant can accommodate up to forty but its attractive decor makes it welcoming for couples and small groups as for the larger party. A La Carte and Fresh Fish Menus are available daily, each offering a wide choice of dishes, fresh vegetables. An extensive wine list is available to compliment the meal. Throughout the year, the Hotel offers special deals to support local festivals (eg Jazz, Folk), week-end breaks, Easter and Christmas, etc. Our prices start from 25.00 per person, per night (en suite room and breakfast).
