A Warm Welcome at Wilkes Farm

Looking ahead to this year's holidays? Why not take a real break away from it all, and head west to Wilkes Farm.

Just 5 miles from the historic city of Bath and set in the picturesque village of Doynton, South Gloucestershire, the farmhouse dates back to the 17th century. It is within an area of outstanding natural beauty and is surrounded by open farmland.

You can choose from their cosy bed and breakfast accommodation in the main farmhouse, or alternatively stay in one of their beautiful cottages.

Self Catering Accommodation

The three cottages have been tastefully converted from the original, listed, stone-built stables. They are adjacent to the farmhouse and overlook the wooden stables at the rear, and a private courtyard at the front.

Exposed beams add to the character of the cottages, and each is comfortably and tastefully furnished. The kitchens are well-equipped with a refrigerator, a microwave, an oven, and dishwasher. A coin-operated laundry with washing machine and tumble drier, is available in the main farmhouse.

Oil fired central heating and hot water heating are installed in all of the cottages. And when the weather is fine you can take advantage of the garden furniture, which is provided outside the front door of each of the cottages.

All of the cottages can sleep two to four people, and an extra single bed can be made up as required. A travel cot and high chair are also available.

Bed and Breakfast Accommodation

The bed and breakfast accommodation with the main farmhouse is equally charming.

The rooms are all spacious and each one has a wash basin, colour television, tea and coffee making facilities and an electric room heater to supplement the central heating. There is a bathroom and separate shower room solely for the guests' use.

The dining room, where the traditional farmhouse breakfasts are served, has an original flagstone floor and open log fireplace. On the landing, there is a small, slate bedded snooker table.

Local Activities and Attractions

Wilkes Farm is ideally situated for both sightseers and shoppers. It is 10 minutes from the city of Bath, and 20 minutes from Bristol.

For those seeking an activity holiday, riding lessons can be arranged nearby, a clay pigeon shoot is held on the last Sunday of each month (extra charge) and a trout stream, the River Boyd, runs through the fields.

The Cross House pub and the local amenities of Doynton are just a five minute walk down the lane from the farm.

There really is something for everyone, and you will be certain of a friendly welcome from the owners Keitha and Peter Dinham.

Bed and Breakfast

We offer B&B in the Farmhouse from £22.00 per person, per night. We can also provide B&B in our Farm Cottages from £25.00 per person, per night subject to availability.

Prices below are from Saturday to Saturday.

Discounts are available for stays over 3 weeks. Please contact us for details.

A non-refundable deposit of £50 is due when booking with the balance to be paid 28 days before arrival. Owing to demand please make your booking early to avoid disappointment. In the event of your preferred cottage being booked already, you will be allocated the next available cottage.

Farm Cottages - Weekend Breaks

Subject to availability, weekend breaks can be booked from Friday to Sunday inclusive and start from as little as £130. Please contact us for details.
